What if growth isn’t about avoiding mistakes—but staying rooted through them?

When the Stomach Drop Hits

Yesterday morning, something small happened.

I unchecked a box I usually check—just one tiny click. And just like that, I accidentally shared everyone’s email in a group calendar invite.

Instant stomach drop.

The kind that makes your whole body tense. The kind that makes your inner critic start whispering (or shouting), How could you mess this up?

People responded, understandably upset. One asked to be removed.

And for a moment… I felt so small. Embarrassed. Wrong. Like I had messed up in a big, unforgivable way.

In the past, that moment would have hijacked my whole day.
I would’ve apologized 50 times.
Obsessed over the wording.
Questioned whether I should be doing this work at all.

But not today.

Today, I felt it.
I breathed through it.
I fixed it, apologized, and moved forward—with love and responsibility.

Because growth doesn’t look like perfection.
It looks like staying rooted when little things try to shake you.

It’s not about never making mistakes.
It’s about who you become after them.

So I’m sharing this for the version of you who might be spiraling over something small.

Take a breath.

You are allowed to make mistakes.
You are still worthy when you mess up.
You can recalibrate without crumbling.

Let the lesson land—but don’t let it knock you off your path.

You’ve got this.

3 Quotes to Ponder:

“Mistakes are proof you are trying.”

“Grace means that all of your mistakes now serve a purpose instead of serving shame.”
—Brené Brown

“Root down. Then rise.”

2 Thought Experiments:

  1. The Spiral Test
Think back to a small mistake you made recently.
How long did it take for you to forgive yourself?
What did the version of you who spiraled need—but didn’t receive?

  2. The Graceful Pivot
Imagine you just made a public mistake.
Now imagine responding with full grace: no spiraling, no self-blame, just calm, clear action.
What would that version of you say, feel, or do differently?

What mistake am I still carrying? What would it look like to forgive myself—and move forward from a rooted place instead of a reactive one?

Growth and grace belong in your money story, too.

We’ve all made mistakes with money.
Avoided the numbers.
Undercharged.
Said yes when we should’ve said no.

And too often, we let those moments define us—our worth, our pricing, our future.

But what if your next level isn’t about getting it perfect…
It’s about giving yourself grace and doing the deep work to rewrite the story?

Inside Rewrite Your Money Story, I’ll help you do just that—shed the shame, root into your truth, and build a new foundation of alignment, abundance, and confidence.

Even if you’ve made mistakes.
Especially if you’ve made mistakes.
