Stand Before You're Ready: The Secret of the Faith-Led Leader

This week, I started something before I was ready. And my heart beat faster than usual because of it.
I’ve been feeling that familiar tug - the one that calls you to step forward before the ducks are in a row, before the clarity is complete, before you know how it all turns out. You know the one.
I’d been thinking about leadership and visibility. About how much courage it takes to show up before you feel qualified. And about how often we wait for confidence before we move.
But here's the truth that keeps landing for me: Confidence doesn’t come first. Action does.
So I launched a 14-day experiment. Not because I had a plan perfectly laid out, but because I needed to practice showing up from a place of faith, not fear. I’m sharing outtakes. Imperfect ideas. Glimpses of the messy middle. I’m choosing to be seen while the paint is still wet.
And honestly? It’s been a stretch.
But I keep thinking of the future version of me, the one who already leads with ease. She’s out there, waving at me from the other side of this experiment. And when I get quiet and ask her for guidance, she doesn’t say, “Wait until you’re ready.” She says, “Go now.”
So that’s what I’m doing. And maybe, if you’ve been sitting on an idea, a message, a desire to be more visible… maybe this is your sign to start, too. Even if you trip over your words. Even if nobody claps right away. Even if it feels like you’re fumbling in the dark.
Faith-led leadership is about moving before you’re certain. And choosing to believe that clarity will meet you along the way.
If that resonates, I hope you’ll walk alongside me for the next few days. No pressure to perform. Just permission to stretch.
